For Visual Development, our project is to take an existing story, and just retell it - your version, your characters, your world. I have always loved the story "The Journey to the West" since I saw it as a little kid. I remember watching the old Chinese movies dubbed in Vietnamese of this story, and with this opportunity, I decided to go with the version I know and love, because while some people are familiar with the story, most aren't with the long movie version of it.

I'm still working on the character designs and don't have those scanned, but here is one background/landscape I'm working on for my story. I'm planning on either digitally painting or hand painting a version of it. Maybe both.

Quinetta

Okay this is a quick and dirty posting of my character because I haven't updated in a long time, and don't have the time to clean them up perfectly right now. Her name is Quinetta, and she is a black teenager in space land. Enjoy!
